Before Arriving — Checklist
Please ensure you have prepared the following before travelling to Croatia for the 71st World Ploughing Championship.
Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of travel. Check whether you require a visa to enter Croatia.
All competitors must hold valid insurance covering the competition period. This includes personal liability and equipment insurance. Confirmation is required during registration.
If you intend to drive in Croatia, you must carry a valid driving license. Check whether your license is valid in the EU or whether an International Driving Permit is required.
All tractors and ploughs must be thoroughly cleaned before arrival. Biosecurity regulations require that no soil or plant material is transported across borders. A clean equipment declaration is required.
Stone for Cairn of Peace
Each participating country is asked to bring a stone measuring 16 × 8 × 2 cm from their home country. These stones will be used in the Cairn of Peace unveiling ceremony during the Opening Ceremony on Thursday, 3rd September 2026.

Equipment Hire
If you are unable to transport your own tractor and plough, equipment hire can be arranged. This includes tractors and ploughs suitable for the competition.
- Equipment hire requests must be submitted before 31st May 2026
- Please specify the make, model, and class (Conventional or Reversible) you require
- Availability is limited and subject to confirmation
- Cost will be communicated upon request

Tractors and equipment can be transported to the Marshalling Yard from March 2026.
Crane hire for container unloading must be arranged in advance.
